WHO WE ARE

The Calgary Carvers are a social club sharing a common interest in woodcarving and woodworking. We meet year round on Tuesday evenings. We rent our facilities from the Ogden House Seniors Centre. These include a gymnasium-sized hall for carving and a well equipped attached wood working shop boasting a 10” table saw, a 14” band saw, 2 scroll saws, a floor drill press, a belt/disc sander, an oscillating spindle sander and many assorted power hand tools.

Members gather in the meeting space to hand carve a large variety of work including wild birds, decoys, tree spirits, bark carvings, Christmas ornaments, walking sticks and hiking staffs, unique animal sculptures, wildlife figurines, Native Haida style masks and carvings, custom boxes with chip carvings, relief carvings, pyrography and many other objects of art.
